5 SNES Games You've Never Played, But Need To Right Now
Posted by Joey on Oct. 7th, 2016
The Super Nintendo has a fantastic library of games. Most people are familiar with the big hits such as Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World, but there are also several hidden gems that deserve more attention. We've put together a list of 5 games that don't seem to get the attention they deserve.
5) Run Saber
Run Saber is a side-scrolling game that was released in 1993. Similar to Strider, you play as two different characters as you fight to save the planet. The gameplay is smooth and the variety of bosses you face off against are graphically impressive. It's a truly fun action game that is full of surprises.
Batman Returns is a beat 'em up that looks and plays a lot like Final Fight. One interesting thing about this game is that you actually get to play through several of the scenes that appeared in the movie and use some of Batman's iconic weapons like the Batarang. The game offers creative graphics and a solid soundtrack that create a wonderful atmosphere.
3) Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen
Ogre Battle is a real-time RPG that was released for the Saturn, Playstation, and other systems as well. The developer Enix only released twenty five thousand copies of the SNES version to North America so it can be hard to find this title. The game's multiple endings make it satisfying to play through this title several times.
The Lost Vikings is a SNES platforming game that was developed by Blizzard Entertainment who later went on to develop hits like World of Warcraft. The player takes on the roles of 3 different vikings who each have different abilities you must use to complete the levels. This can be quite a challenging game and with 37 levels, it can take quite a while to complete.
King Arthur's World is a unique strategy game that had an interesting feature, it made use of the SNES mouse that was included with Mario Paint. The mouse made it much easier to select your troops and guide them to your goal. The maps are wonderfully complex and the boss battles will really provide a challenge, even to veteran gamers.
