Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is everything a sequel should be, bigger, more colorful, and with the option to play it with a friend. In a radical departure from the first game, Turtles 2 is a straight-up, arcade-style, bare-knuckle badguy beatdown. Designed to replicate the original Turtles arcade game in every way, this Nintendo port did not disappoint. With even more levels than its inspiration, it allowed you to walk, jump, and lay down the hurt from 8 differen directions, as you cleared out room after room of villains lifted straight from the awesome Saturday morning cartoon. Best of all, it now featured a two-player mode, meaning you could team up with friends to form your very own Super Powered, Pizza Eating, fighting force. And, if you had a Nintendo Advantage Joystick, it only made the arcade experience all the sweeter, as you busted heads all the way across New York to the heart of Shredder’s Terrordrome. NES multiplayer didn’t get much better than this technical marvel.
